The latest Catalogue of the First Batch Application Demonstration for Key New Materials (2024 Edition) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology lists electronic-grade epoxy resins as "key strategic materials", requiring a total chlorine content below 250 ppm. Nevertheless, China’s domestic high-end epoxy resin market — especially high-purity low-chlorine grades and special-structure products — has long been heavily reliant on imports. Some critical products are even subject to sales restrictions overseas. This bottleneck in core materials has become a major constraint on the high-quality development of China’s semiconductor industry.
